Postelix vs SparkToro: audience research and a named market on LinkedIn
SparkToro answers a question about a group. Where does this audience spend its time online. You describe an audience, it returns the websites, podcasts, social accounts and demographics that group is associated with.
Postelix answers a different question. Who, by name, is in your market on LinkedIn right now, and what did they react to this week. You get a list of people with role and LinkedIn profile, re-scored every week, and a weekly page that says what the market reacted to and which vendor got the attention.
Postelix is not affiliated with SparkToro. Every SparkToro fact below was read on sparktoro.com in September 2026 and is marked as such. If we could not see it on their site, it is not on this page.
What SparkToro does
SparkToro is audience research software. The homepage states the mission as "make it easy to discover the websites, blogs, podcasts, social accounts, and publications that reach your audience", as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026.
You type a description of an audience and get a report. The product areas listed, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026:
- Affinities: websites, podcasts, YouTube channels and social accounts ranked by how much the audience engages with them
- Search Keywords: what the audience searches on Google and Bing
- Social Networks: which platforms the audience uses, compared against an average
- AI Tools: which AI platforms the audience engages with
- Demographics: age, gender, job titles, skills
- Take Action and Persona Builder, on the Business plan and above
Coverage spans LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and Threads, plus websites, YouTube channels, podcasts, keywords, brands and AI prompt topics, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026.
The data. SparkToro's help pages describe "anonymized, aggregated clickstream data" combined with public LinkedIn profiles. Its privacy page states "we do not sell personal data or build profiles of individual people" and "SparkToro reports describe audiences in aggregate. The goal is to tell you what a group of people pays attention to, not to identify or profile any single individual." Both as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026.
Accuracy. SparkToro says its results are "directional rather than exact" and "sample-based by nature", as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026.
Geography. The help page on languages and geographies says coverage is "English-language audiences in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom" and that "Audiences in other countries or languages are not yet supported", with a stated hope to expand in 2027.
Pricing, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026: Free at $0 with 3 reports a month and preview data only, Personal at $50 a month for a single user with all data types and MCP access, Business at $150 a month with 25 reports and 10 users, Agency at $300 a month with 250 reports and 100 users. A separate API sells pay-as-you-go credit bundles.
What Postelix does
Postelix builds a named market on LinkedIn for one company. Not a persona and not a percentage. A list of the actual people who decide and influence purchases in your category, with name, role and LinkedIn profile, re-scored every week.
Six sources build it:
Then capture. Every reaction, comment and profile view from that market comes back as a named person with the exact post attached. Profile views need Premium or Sales Navigator on the seat.
Then the readout, one page a week: the crowd number, the segments, the buyer tier, competitive attention, voices, events, movement. Here is a real one. A revenue-tooling vendor in the Nordics, pull dated 27 August 2026, 90-day window, 170 most active of 642 sampled, market built from competitor engagers then title-filtered. Market reactions and reactions per post: Gong 327 and 13.6, Outreach 264 and 11.0, Salesloft 99 and 4.1, Clari 68 and 2.8, Sybill 31 and 2.8, Avoma 27 and 1.1, People.ai 12 and 0.5, Attention 0 from 24 posts. Zero is printed as zero with the post count.
That list then feeds five uses. Content: which topics the market reacts to, tested on drafts before you post. Ads: we hand you the company list and the title layer for a LinkedIn Campaign Manager matched audience. Events: which rooms the market gathers in, at company level. Voices: the creators the market follows, ranked by overlap with your market rather than by follower count. Outbound: who entered the market this week, who is warming, who acted.
Pricing runs EUR 490 a month for up to 2,500 people, EUR 1,190 for up to 7,500 with trusted-voice partnerships, and from EUR 3,900 for regional audiences and quarterly strategy. Tier 1 assumes about EUR 500 a month of ad budget on top.
Postelix is a brand of Unfair Advantage Ltd, Cyprus, and the market is built for the European rules.

When SparkToro is the right call
SparkToro is the better buy in several situations, and we will say so plainly.
You are planning media, not outbound. If what you need is a shortlist of podcasts to sponsor, newsletters to buy and subreddits to read, SparkToro is built for that and Postelix is not. We tell you which LinkedIn voices your market follows. We do not tell you which podcast to sponsor.
Your audience is English-speaking in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom. That is where SparkToro says its coverage sits, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026.
You want an answer in five minutes for fifty dollars. Personal is $50 a month, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026. A market build costs more and asks more of your time in onboarding. For a first sanity check on a new category, the cheap fast report is the right tool.
You are an agency running many client categories at once. Agency at $300 a month covers 100 users and 250 reports a month, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026. Nothing we sell is priced for that kind of breadth.
You explicitly do not want named individuals. Some teams have a policy against holding person-level data for prospecting. SparkToro's privacy page is clear that its reports are aggregate. If that constraint is real for you, it is a reason to pick them, and we would rather you knew before a call than after.
You need search keywords or age and salary demographics. Postelix produces neither.
When Postelix is the right call
Pick Postelix when the next step after the research is a name.
You need to write to people, not about them. A report saying your audience over-indexes on a podcast does not tell you who to message on Tuesday. Our output is a person with the post they reacted to attached, so a first line can be true rather than plausible.
Your market is European. We run pulls in the Nordics, the UK, DACH and Benelux. Several US audience vendors geofence or shut down in the EU. We work from public LinkedIn engagement, vendor-level aggregates and your own customer list.
Your category is small and specific. Audience research gets noisy as the group narrows, and SparkToro says so itself: smaller, niche audiences are noisier, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026. A market of 2,500 named people in ecommerce customer-service AI is not a sample of a large population. It is close to the population.
You want to know which competitor is winning attention, with a number. From the ecommerce customer-service AI pull in London, August 2026, 264 sampled and 170 most active: Kustomer 158 market reactions at 6.6 per post, Gladly 77 at 3.2, Siena 74 at 3.1, Ada 31 at 1.3, Gorgias 18 at 0.8, Narvar 4 at 0.2. Gorgias is the biggest ecommerce helpdesk brand in that set and close to invisible in that market's attention.
You want one list feeding more than one channel. The market becomes the ad audience, the content test panel, the event shortlist and the outbound queue.
You want it maintained. A report is a snapshot. People move company, new people enter the category every week, and the vendor winning attention in March is not always the one winning in August.
Questions
Only for part of the job. If you use SparkToro to decide where to advertise and which creators reach your buyers, Postelix answers the LinkedIn half of that with named people and overlap numbers. If you use it for podcasts, newsletters, search keywords or demographics, we do not replace it.
No. SparkToro's privacy page states that its reports describe audiences in aggregate and that it does not build profiles of individual people, as published on sparktoro.com, September 2026. Postelix does the opposite: the output is a named person with the post they engaged.
As published on sparktoro.com in September 2026, coverage is English-language audiences in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and audiences in other countries or languages are not yet supported, with a stated hope to expand in 2027. Postelix runs European pulls today.
SparkToro ranks accounts by how much a modelled audience engages with them across eight networks. We rank LinkedIn voices by how many people in your specific named market follow or engage them, printed as a fraction of the sample. In one revenue-tooling market, the top voice reached 29 of 170 sampled people, and the top voice was an account executive with a newsletter rather than a vendor CEO.
Yes, and some teams should. Use SparkToro to decide which podcasts and publications to buy in the US and UK, and use Postelix for the LinkedIn market, the ad company list and the outbound. They answer different questions and neither reads the other's data.
